چکیده
Abstract A natural coupling of a circuit with an electromagnetic device is possible if special boundary conditions, called Electric Circuit Element (ECE), are used for the field formulation. This contribution shows how these ECE conditions can be implemented into 3D-finite element method solving coupled full-wave (EM) field-circuit problems in frequency domain. The response allows extraction reduced order model analyzed device, accounting all EM effects. implementation based on weak formulation that uses electric strength E strictly inside domain and scalar potential V defined solely at boundary. Approximate Dirichlet Boundary Conditions in the Generalized Finite Element Method
We propose a method for treating the Dirichlet boundary conditions in the framework of the Generalized Finite Element Method (GFEM). We use approximate Dirichlet boundary conditions as in [12] and polynomial approximations of the boundary. Our sequence of GFEM-spaces considered, Sμ, μ = 1, 2, . . . is such that Sμ 6 ⊂ H1 0 (Ω), and hence it does not conform to one of the basic FEM conditions. L...
متن کاملEvaluation of Fracture Parameters by Coupling the Edge-Based Smoothed Finite Element Method and the Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method
This paper presents a technique to evaluate the fracture parameters by combining the edge based smoothed finite element method (ESFEM) and the scaled boundary finite element method (SBFEM). A semi-analytical solution is sought in the region close to the vicinity of the crack tip using the SBFEM, whilst, the ESFEM is used for the rest of the domain. As both methods satisfy the partition of unity...
متن کاملFinite Element Method for Epitaxial Growth with Thermodynamic Boundary Conditions
We develop an adaptive finite element method for island dynamics in epitaxial growth. We study a step-flow model, which consists of an adatom (adsorbed atom) diffusion equation on terraces of different height; thermodynamic boundary conditions on terrace boundaries including anisotropic line tension; and the normal velocity law for the motion of such boundaries determined by a two-sided flux, t...
متن کاملAxisymmetric Scaled Boundary Finite Element Formulation for Wave Propagation in Unbounded Layered Media
Wave propagation in unbounded layered media with a new formulation of Axisymmetric Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (AXI-SBFEM) is derived. Dividing the general three-dimensional unbounded domain into a number of independent two-dimensional ones, the problem could be solved by a significant reduction in required storage and computational time. The equations of the corresponding Axisymmetri...
متن کاملElectric Circuit Analysis using Finite Element Modeling
Electric circuit analysis determines the voltage and current distribution in an electric circuit due to applied source voltages or currents. In a static (DC) electric circuit analysis, the voltage and current distribution in an electric circuit is determined that is subjected to applied DC source voltages or currents. In a harmonic (AC) electric circuit analysis, the voltage and current distrib...
